Green Gourmet
Picnic season is upon us, so what are you waiting for? Pack a hamper, grab your beloved and head for the park. For a particularly romantic experience, check out these parks in Barcelona, San Francisco and Tokyo.
Enchanting
Gingerbread houses, pointy towers, curvy stairs and benches: Antoni Gaudí gave his creative genius free rein in Park Güell, Barcelona, which looks straight out of a fairy tale. There are peaceful spots away from the tourist hordes at the bottom end of the park.

Waterfalls, windmills, lots of greenery: The Golden Gate Park in San Francisco is one of the largest urban parks in the world. The best place to picnic is on top of Strawberry Hill with a panoramic view of the city.
Flowery
Tokyo’s Shinjuku Gyoen park features English, French and Japanese landscape gardening and is particularly attractive at cherry-blossom time in April and May. Gourmet picnickers can buy their picnic feast next door at the classy Takashimaya department store.
