What’s in your bag, Tom Odell?

The British singer-songwriter’s new album Jubilee Road sounds like the soundtrack to a winter’s walk through London – mostly romantic, occasionally a little bit bleak. Currently touring Europe, the 28-year-old musician will be playing three gigs in Germany. Lufthansa Magazin took a peek inside his case at Tegel Airport in Berlin.

1 Headphones
I’ve discovered meditation apps. I listen to them on Sennheiser headphones when I’m traveling. They cancel out all the noises around me.

 

2 Notebook
When I’m on a plane, I write the date, flight number and ideas for lyrics in here. So you could say that parts of my latest album came into being above the clouds.

 

3 Novel
Right now, I’m reading American Pastoral, a generational drama by Philip Roth that follows the disintegration of a family but also describes the tensions and turmoil in the U.S. in the 1960s.
