London’s Tate Modern is showing a retrospective of the work of Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani (1884–1920), whose unique style found little favor in his lifetime. His main subject: the human form (here The Little Peasant).

That was 21 years ago, but it’s regarded as a milestone of neo-soul. This month, the singer is performing in Germany: August 27 in Cologne and August 29 in Berlin.
