These trees have neither been Photoshopped nor painted by toddlers, they made their stripes all by themselves. When eucalyptus deglupa – rainbow eucalyptus – sheds bark each year, a bright green layer appears, which then turns blue, orange and red.
My favorite photo I met these schoolboys in Childara, a mountain village 200 kilometers or so east of Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. When I held up my camera questioningly, the international way of saying “May I take your picture?” they agreed, although shyly at first.
