©Edward Hopper (1882–1967) is a master of American Realism. Some 60 pieces of his are showing at the Fondation Beyeler art museum in Basel, Switzerland.
My favorite photo I met these schoolboys in Childara, a mountain village 200 kilometers or so east of Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. When I held up my camera questioningly, the international way of saying “May I take your picture?” they agreed, although shyly at first.
