Clear the stage for spectacular productions! This blood-red theater shines like a beacon amid the rugged mountains surrounding Julier Pass in the Swiss Alps – but only for a limited period.
The Origen Festival Cultural is known for its unique performances and performance venues – in a medieval castle, say, or against an extreme natural backdrop. In 2017, the cultural institution in the Canton of Grisons built a wooden theater tower some 30 meters high nearly 2300 meters up in the mountains. The stage is suspended from the ceiling, and an audience of 220 can enjoy experimental music and dance from theater boxes with large windows – until the fall of 2020, when the tower will be taken down again.
